Are these classes online or in person? Do they have specific meeting times?

All Writing the Other classes are online and do not not have set meeting times. You can access lectures, other class materials, and group discussions at any time from anywhere in the world as long as you have an Internet connection. All class activity will take place in a private online forum.

The private class forums use WordPress with a theme specifically geared to accessibility and compatibility with screen readers. Classes that include lectures on video are closed captioned and transcribed; the text will be available to all students. We strive to make all classes as accessible as possible, but if you need any extra considerations or have a question about accessibility, please contact us.

Are you offering payment plans for the Class Packs?

No. Since students will have the option to register for each individual class when enrollment opens up, we’re not offering an option for payment plans on the pre-registration prices. Each class will have financial aid options, including Sliding Scale payments. Each registration page will have details on how to apply.

Are there scholarships available?

You can’t apply for a scholarship for a 2, 3, or 4 Class Pack. You can apply for a scholarship to each individual class. You may apply for and receive multiple scholarships in a calendar year. Each class registration page will have details on application procedures and deadlines.

Can I get a refund if I’m unable to take all the classes I pre-paid for in 2019?

No, there are no refunds. However, if you’re unable to make a class in 2019, we will give the same ones in 2020 (dates have not been set). If you’re still unable to take all the classes pre-paid for by the end of 2020, you’ll be given the option to take Master Classes (live or on demand) or other Writing the Other classes with costs similar to the remaining value of the Pack in 2021.

What happens if I enroll in a class but have to drop it? Will I still be able to choose a different class?

Yes. When you enroll in a class you’ll get a message about the deadline to let us know if you need to drop. If you do, you can re-use your code to enroll in a different class.
